Clinton: In the news for the past few day was Hillary Clinton's RFK gaff which got her the exclusive publicity that she badly needed over an otherwise politically dry weekend. Keep in mind that the Clintons, masters of publicity, rarely do anything by accident, except perhaps Bills faux pas with the blue dress.
That said, HC should indeed stay in the race to the end. She and Obama are neck and neck despite what the press says. This editor for one believes she can win the nomination at one minute to midnight. When politicians win, the mechanics and methods - however devious or lacking in fair play - are rarely remembered. HR will use any and all means necessary to win this nomination. Last time I looked the fat lady - I am referring of course to the one who normally sings are the end of a contest - was nowhere to be seen. From a Republican standpoint every day HC stays in the race is a day closer to election day and another day spend girding their political loins and kissing other people's babies.
Memorial Day: The wars that are raged are fought by our children, parents, brothers and sisters. While politicians choose the battleground, our soldiers fight the fight, and deserve our unreserved and full support. Take the time this Monday to raise a glass, or bow your head in a prayer, to remember our brave soldiers alive and dead for doing what their country asked of them. Without their sacrifice our world would be a very different place.
Celebrity News: Readers will have noticed the distinct absence of news, and our pride in that absence, about anyone of the afore-never-to-be-mentioned genre. Now and again a rare exception might arise. Take for example today's line and picture under US News about Danica Patrick. Danica has earned her stripes and our admiration as a leader in one of the most dangerous motor sports in the world. That's why, I'm told, we have pictures of her all over our server room.
